Monroe County and all of its municipalities are in the process of changing vendors for our “Reverse 911” service. This is the service that calls your phone in emergency situations and community announcements. You can include your cell phone number(s) and home phone number. We have used this service in the past for planned water outages and trash schedule changes, but it could also be used to inform you of evacuations, boil orders, and shelter information in inclement weather when power may be out. All households are encouraged to sign up and enroll their cell phone numbers. The new vender is “Everbridge” and more information is coming shortly.
Village code requires certain buildings to participate in the fire department rapid access lock box program. There is also a home lock box program that is voluntary; however, homes with a resident who has health issues or homes with an automatic fire alarm system would be a great fit for the program.
